peekSYS Screen Layout & Controls
 
- 'Scan' button interrogates the system, then changes to 'Rescan' once an initial scan is completed
 
- 'Copy' button sends the scan information displayed in the information window to the clipboard, disabled until a scan has been performed
 
- 'Help' button displays this help file

- 'About' button displays information about peekSYS

- 'Quit' button closes peekSYS

- Output window displays system information after a scan; also displays the 'Help' file and 'About' information after associated button presses
  
- 'Show more detail' checkbox toggles the amount of information displayed in the output window

- 'Hide section headings' checkbox hides section headings for a more compact report

- 'Green screen mode' checkbox turns the output window black with green text, old school terminal style

- 'Stay on top' checkbox keeps the peekSYS window above other windows

Note: Although the entire contents of the output window can be copied to the clipboard using the 'Copy' button, individual sections or lines can be highlighted and copied with Ctrl-C and pasted with Ctrl-V.

- Timestamp of scan

System Manufacturer & Model
- Manufacturer and/or model of scanned system (info. from system BIOS via Windows registry)

Power
- Power source, AC or Battery

Battery
- Battery information, on charge, battery use

System Boot Time (Show more detail)
- Date and time the system started from cold boot

System Uptime (Show more detail)
- Number of days, hours, minutes the system has been running since last cold restart 

Operating System
- OS name and version
- OS edition
- OS architecture
- OS build number (Show more detail)
- System directory path (Show more detail)

Note:
On some systems running Windows 11, the registry may report Windows 10 as the edition. If the OS build number is 22000 or higher, peekSYS corrects this and reports a Windows 11 edition instead.

System Context
- Name of computer
- Computer host name (Show more detail)
- Domain or Workgroup name (Show more detail)
- Account name of user currently logged in
- Admin status of current user
- Session type (Show more detail)

Network Adapters (Show more detail)
- List of network adapters, including Ethernet, USB, Wi-Fi,  virtual and so on
 
Network Addresses
- List of IPv4 and IPv6 network addresses

CPU
- CPU manufacturer and model
- Type of processor (64-bit, ARM, etc.)
- Number of CPU cores (Show more detail)

Ram & Memory
- Total amount of physical RAM installed
- Free physical RAM available to user
- Total amount of virtual space (Show more detail)
- Free virtual space available to user (Show more detail)
- Total swap space assigned to the system (Show more detail)
- Free swap space currently available (Show more detail)
- Paging file size (usually 4096b or 4Kb) (Show more detail)

Primary Display Adapter
- Graphics display manufacturer and model

Note: On some systems with multiple graphics processors (for example, integrated and dedicated GPUs), only the primary display adapter may be shown; secondary GPUs may not appear, as they are used for offloading rendering rather than directly driving the display

Screens 
- Resolution (width x height) and refresh rate of any detected screens
- System name and colour depth of any screens (Show more detail)

Sound Device
- Reports if sound is available

Primary Storage
- Total size of primary storage drive
- Free space on primary storage drive

All Storage Devices (Show more detail)
- List of other storage devices such as removable, optical, network, RAM and so on; also reports size if available
 
Human Interface Devices
- List of input devices on the system including those connected via USB, Bluetooth, I2C and SPI
- I2C devices (Show more detail) may include those built in such as touch controllers, battery or power management chips, embedded controllers and so on
- SPI devices (Show more detail) may include those built in such as flash memory, embedded controllers, some displays, firmware chips and so on
